Problem
Globally drowning is a major killer with ~250.000 fatalities a year, according to WHO.
According to national registers in Scandinavia ~400 people die from drowning per year, and for small children, drowning is one of the leading causes of death with 10-15 fatal drownings yearly. For each fatal drowning there are multiple non-fatal drowning accidents, many with severe health consequences. After children stop using permanently inflatable buoyancy aids, there are no products to keep them safe. ~⅔ of child drownings in DK+SW happens in pools, beaches and lakes, thus being preventable by the company’s solution.
Solution
Smart inflatable swimwear technology.
The company has a patent pending on a unique innovation, that is triggered by depth if the user is below the surface for an extended period. The inflatable is built into a UV protective swimwear.
The USP
The unique selling point/offering of the innovation is combining the ability for the user to swim/move around freely in the water in a completely non-intrusive manner, while at the same time introducing protection against drowning (activated only in case a dangerous situation occurs). Thereby a completely new product category is created – Protective Swimwear, in which there exists no direct competition.
The business model
Own channels – to gain speed to market focus on both BtC and trusted retailers.
Partnerships – become an embedded tech provider for existing brands in the product categories swimwear, active lifestyle and water safety.
