Introduction to SPRINGBOARD®
The startup will develop and validate the world's first hygienic pallet lift-type mobile robot specifically designed for pharmaceutical cleanrooms. The startup focuses on creating a novel hygienic design that adheres to the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical environments, addressing several unresolved engineering challenges in the process. Subsequent testing and validation of the robot will provide a certified product to the risk-averse pharma industry.

Background to the company
The company was founded in 2023 by former employees of Novo Nordisk to develop and manufacture hygienic mobile robots purpose-built for the operation in pharmaceutical cleanrooms. We have used our previous Innofounder grant for industry research, sales efforts, and the development of a small, multi-use-case mobile robot for high cleanrooms grades. Following customer insights from various Pharma companies in Europe, we’ve recently added additional mobile robot concepts for hygienic transport of heavy loads in different cleanroom grades to our portfolio.
The ambition
To provide the world’s first hygienic mobile robots for pharmaceutical production.
The solution
The company autonomous mobile robots (AMR) enable pharma companies to automate and digitize daily operations with innovative technology and remove line workers from delicate parts of pharmaceutical production. With this project, we bridge the pharma and the robotic industry and lead mobile robots into pharmaceutical cleanrooms.
The market
The solution bridges two global markets with significant growth: The pharma market ($1.1 trillion (2030), 6.5% CAGR) and the mobile robotics market ($10.5 billion (2028), 23% CAGR). Based on existing production sites of the 25 biggest pharma companies, we estimate a potential need of 3,000 pallet-lift mobile robots in Europe. Various pharma companies such as AstraZeneca (in UK), Astellas (Ireland), Eli Lilly and Sanofi (Germany), Novo Nordisk (Denmark, France) are establishing new manufacturing facilities within the next years (150+ robots) with investments totaling more than $10 bn. To meet the additional production capacity, sub-suppliers of bulk sterile products are required to increase their production as well.
