Introduction

The company offers an automated handwashing and drying station that simplifies the process of hand hygiene. The device integrates soap dispensing, washing and drying functionalities into a single, efficient unit, significantly reducing the time and resources typically required for handwashing. It uses high-pressure water jets with soap and a fast-drying system, completing the entire handwashing cycle in just 15 seconds instead of the required 60 seconds, offering more thorough cleaning compared to traditional methods.

This not only ensures consistently clean hands, but also conserves water (over 70% less water than the traditional handwashing method) and reduces waste from disposable towels (with Danish companies spending 252-322M DKK every year on paper towels), aligning with environmental sustainability efforts.

The product is designed for easy installation in various settings such as restaurants, hotels, airports, public bathrooms, offices and clinics, making it a solution for improving public health and hygiene.

Additionally, the product turns handwashing from a chore into a pleasant experience, often described by our first users as a "hand jacuzzi". This enjoyable process encourages frequent use, promoting regular hand hygiene habits.

The hand hygiene market is competitive with major players like Dyson and Meritech, offering solutions such as high-speed air dryers and automated hand washing stations, these companies focus on reducing paper towel waste and improving hygiene, but involve separate units for washing and drying hands. The product stands out by integrating washing and drying into a single unit, providing a quicker and more efficient hand wash, ensuring a proper hand wash every time, regardless of the handwashing skills of the user. Our product is the only one in the world that does so.

The product addresses critical hygiene issues by improving hand cleanliness and reducing resource wastage. Traditional hand washing methods are inefficient, using excessive water and energy, while also generating significant waste from paper towels.

Furthermore, inadequate hand washing facilities often discourage proper hygiene, contributing to the spread of diseases. According to Statens Serum Institut, poor hand hygiene is a major contributor to the spread of infectious diseases, with about 3000 patients dying annually from infections acquired in Danish hospitals. Meanwhile, the Danish Employers' Association estimates that improving hand hygiene could save businesses approximately 46B DKK annually in reduced sick leave and increased productivity.

B, current master’s student in Design and Innovation at DTU, heads the user-driven innovation and product design. Her work ensures that the solution not only functions optimally but also provide a user-friendly experience. B’s expertise in UX/UI design is crucial in making our device intuitive and appealing to users.

C, M.Arch Industrial designer. 20 years of experience within the field of product design and development. He is equally skilled with in the technical as well as aesthetical parts of product design.

D, brings robust technical expertise from his seven years at a startup similar to ours, where he focused on product development and technical project execution. His background in engineering enhances our product’s design and functionality, ensuring that the solution stands out for its technological innovations.

Status

Established a well-functioning proof-of-concept system, ready for testing at Niras and DTU.

Simultaneously we conduct analyses of relevant production methods with production partners in Denmark.

Within the next 3-6 months we seek to identify scale-up material, production methods, tools, pricing and future production partners – to establish a time-perspective for at commercial model to be offered to large accounts such as Føtex, McDonalds, airports, public institutions, etc.

Parallel to the above, we are seeking soft and hard funding.
