Introduction to SPRINGBOARD®

Danish startup based out of Copenhagen initially founded in New York with test focus on Copenhagen and Århus. Research has been conducted with boots on the ground in the US, Europe and Asia to understand the problems of dating and the social space. The aim is to be the first company to succeed in creating natural meetings in your context to find friends, romance, activity partners or even professional networking.

Areas for sparring

For this SPRINGBOARD®, panelists with competencies/experience within these themes, are needed for sparring:

                                                  1. 1. Strategic Positioning & Storytelling
Should we pitch the company as a focused next generation dating app or as a multi-vertical platform (dating, friendship, networking)? Which positioning would attract more investor interest and higher valuation at the pre-seed stage?

                                                  2. 2. Funding Strategy & Milestones
What's the optimal fundraising strategy for our pre-seed round?

                                                  3. What specific early evidence would make our multi-vertical potential (dating, friends, networking) compelling to pre-seed investors?

                                                  4. What's the optimal mix of investors (successful social app founders, angels, VCs) for our pre-seed round to maximize our valuation and future fundraising potential?

                                                  5. 3. Critical Risk Mitigation
Research identifies 'user density' as the most critical risk factor. What concrete evidence, early traction metrics, or go-to-market strategies would the panel recommend addressing investor concerns about achieving the critical mass needed for location-based features to provide value?

                                                          Industry: App

                                                            The problem

Shortcomings of current dating apps – finding the right one has never seemed easier yet never been more difficult. Less than 3% of digital matches end in physical meetings.

                                                            The solution

The app bridges finding dates based on your:

Past – previously visited venues and events.

Present – live dating at venues and events.

Future – pre-planned dates using events + find things to do + personal venues dating map.

                                                            Status

Last year we did hypothesis testing through beta tests from July and on where the founder went full-time. It has been demonstrated that the company can attract users, attract partner venues and their intention to pay when more users have been onboarded. Focus was then on establishing the core team with CTO and CMO to increase momentum and accelerate. Based on user feedback we are then building version 2 of the software and planning the real launch.
